Tidy helps you clean up the photos and videos on your iPhone by finding duplicates, similar shots and blurry photos. This page explains what information the app handles and how.
Last updated October 11, 2026
The app asks for access to your photo library to find duplicates and similar shots. All photo and video analysis happens on your iPhone. Neither the photos themselves nor the analysis results are sent to the developer or any third-party server.
To pick the "Best" of a set of similar photos, the app uses Vision, the image analysis built into iOS, to give each face in a photo a 0–1 score for how well it came out (eyes open, expression, blur). This also happens entirely on your iPhone.
Only how well a face came out is scored. The app does not recognise who anyone is or record facial features, and no face image or score ever leaves your iPhone.
The following is stored only on your iPhone. No one — including the developer — can see it.
All of this is removed when you delete the app.
The app contains no advertising.
The contact form uses Google Forms (Google LLC). The email address and message you enter are stored on Google’s servers and used only to reply to you.
Information is not shared with third parties except as required by law and as described above under "Contact form".
A photo that is not present on your iPhone may be loaded from iCloud for display or playback. This traffic goes through Apple’s Photos service.
Photos deleted from the app stay in the iOS "Recently Deleted" album for 30 days. If you use iCloud Photos, deletion applies to every device on the same Apple ID.
